PSA of the Day: Patton Oswalt reenacts the now-infamous angry Alamo Drafthouse patron voicemail for the latest in the cinema chain’s long line of amazing anti-talking/texting PSAs.
Young Adult director Jason Reitman makes an appearance.

this is still funny. i miss the drafthouse. (and austin.)
Dear AlamoDrafthouse: I love you so hard, it’s going to hurt both of us.
the drafthouse is, hands down, one of my favorite things in austin. i plan on spending as much of the summer there as i can. best movie theater ever.
Promotional Stunt of the Day: The Alamo Drafthouse invited four people to an advance screening of Rodrigo Cortés’s claustrophobic thriller, Buried. The catch? They had to watch it on an LCD screen from inside a coffin while buried underground themselves.
Worth it?
[superpunch.]
Fucking shit, I would die.
hahaha, i love the drafthouse and their shenanigans. hell yeah austin, texas.

after an exhausting few days in houston (it really sucks when the roommate you’re assigned snores like a damn freight train) of power point presentations and having to tap into my rusty public speaking skills, i’m home in austin and ready to vegetate all day tomorrow.
but tonight becca and i went down to the alamo drafthouse ritz for their 1999 singalong, which was two hours of hit music videos from 1999 with their lyrics across the bottom of the screen. an entire theater of people shamelessly belted out backstreet boys, christina aguilera, sugar ray, tlc, puff daddy, britney spears, smash mouth, goo goo dolls, eagle-eye cherry, lit, blink 182, will smith, ricky martin… among many, many others. SO AWESOME. sadly, we realized that *nsync and the glorious “no strings attached” album was in 2000, so there would be no dancing to “bye, bye, bye” for us tonight.
tattoo convention tomorrow. and maybe a movie, because i won a $25 gift card to cinemark during a highly competitive game of movie trivia at our meeting in houston. too bad “the lovely bones” is getting shit reviews. maybe “youth in revolt”? what’s good in the theaters right now?
